COVID-19 Govt may extend lockdown as state govt and medical experts are requesting

COVID-19 Govt may extend lockdown after Coronavirus positive cases in India near 4800-mark, death toll at 124. Chief Ministers and medical experts are requesting the Government to extend the lockdown to stop spreading the decease in large numbers, here is what they said about it.

K Chandrasekhar Rao Chief Minister of Telangana on Monday appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the 21-day national lockdown to control the spread of this Coronavirus disease in the country. I am appealing to the Prime Minister and Government of India to extend lockdown without hesitation because we can recover from the economic problem. But, we cannot recover people’s lives

Shivraj Singh Chouhan Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh said the lives of people are more important, the economy can be built again but if people die, how will we bring them back? That is why, if the need arises we will extend the lockdown, Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh has been reported the total number of 165 positive cases of coronavirus so far.

Yogi Adityanath Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Monday hinted that the 21 day lockdown period could be extended beyond April 14. Coronavirus positive cases touching 305 so far in the state. Out of the total 305 cases, the Tablighi Jamaat attendees alone account for more than 50 percent of the patients with 159 cases.

Ashok Gehlot Chief Minister of Rajasthan on Tuesday said through video conferencing. We cannot withdraw the lockdown immediately. It has to be done in a phased manner. The lockdown to check the spread of coronavirus has to be lifted in phases and not as soon as the 21-day period ends.

Uddhav Thackeray Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Tuesday said the decision on lockdown should be extended or not in the state will be taken only after April 14 when the lockdown is supposed to end. Maharashtra is the only state to have crossed the 1,000-mark in terms of positive cases while 12 more died in the state on Monday to take the toll to 64. At least 40 have died in Mumbai.

M Venkaiah Naidu Vice President of India appealed to the people to abide by whatever decision taken by the government and cooperate with the same. the spirit that has so far been evident even if it meant to continue with some degree of hardship still beyond April 14.
