A few Indian celebrities said that they intended to vacation in Lakshadweep, which created interest in the islands because of the problem.

According to a senior Alliance Air official, the extra flights will run on Sundays and Wednesdays, two days a week. The sole airline operating in Lakshadweep, Alliance Air, connects Kochi, Kerala, with Agatti Island, which has a small airport that serves Lakshadweep. Every day, the airlines fly 70-seaters to the island.
