American model Gigi Hadid was detained last week in the Cayman Islands for allegedly having marijuana.

Gigi Hadid 28 was detained with Leah McCarthy (her friend) by the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control after they found marijuana in their baggage as both of them were arrived for a vacation on 10 July by private jet.

The model and her friend ended up being held in the Prisoner Detention Centre after being arrested, and both of them eventually was released on bail.

As per official, It was a small amount of marijuana for personal use, both of them were appeared in the Cayman Island court and they were fined 1K Cayman Island dollars which is approx $1200 USD

Hadid's manager said she was purchased marijuana legally with a medical license from New York. And using marjuana is absolutly legal in Cayman Islands since 2017.

The Cayman Islands Judicial Administration spokesman confirmed to media that Gigi Hadid and Leah McCarthy had paid their fines.
