Coco Lee, Asia's popular singer who born in Hong Kong dies by suicide at 48 on Wednesday.
Coco Lee was attempted suicide few days ago at her home and her family took her to the hospital immediately.
Lee's elder sisters Carol and Nancy stated that she was suffering from depression for the last few years and her condition was deteriorated drastically in last few months.
Lee was well-known for her powerful voice and live stage performance, she worked tirelessly to built a new world for Chinees singers in the international forum.
Lee was born in Hong Kong as Ferren Lee, later she was moved to San Francisco, US for attending middle and high school. Lee was started her career with a mandopop singer.
Then she later started releasing albums in English and Cantonese for three decades, and become the first popular Chinees singer in American's history.
Lee married to a Canadian businessman Bruce Rockowitz a former CEO of Li & Fung. She didn't have any children from Rockowitz, but had two stepdaughters.
