Google layoffs 12,000 employees worldwide. CEO Sunder Pichai

HINDUSTANVIEW.COM Google announced layoffs 12,000 employees worldwide which has a significant presence in Austin which is one of Google's largest hubs.

HINDUSTANVIEW.COM Google was opened an Austin office in 2007, however company did not said anything about how its Austin operations were affected.

HINDUSTANVIEW.COM Google's worldwide workforce are nearly 187,000 and they are firing about 6% of total employees in worldwide office.

HINDUSTANVIEW.COM Google CEO Sunder Pichai sad in a blog post that the company grew fast in recent years but now is facing a difficult economic cycle.

HINDUSTANVIEW.COM Pichai also said that since last 2 years we’ve seen periods of dramatic growth. To match and fuel that growth, we hired for a different economic reality than the one we face today.

HINDUSTANVIEW.COM Google said employees who are effected through layoffs would be paid for a period of at least 60 days, 2022 bonuses would be paid and health insurance for 6 months.
