New Dhadi Darshan System starting on January 1 at Jagannath Temple at Puri.
The government of Odisha plans on using a new wait management system at Puri’s iconic Jagannath Temple in order to enhance pilgrims’ spiritual experiences. The Dhadi Darshan system will be launched on January 1, 2025, after a trial run at the end of December this year.
Dhadi Darshan system
The Dhadi Darshan system would have separate entry and departure points to reduce congestion. Devotees will enter the temple through the Satapahacha gate and depart through (Ghanti and Garada), two different gates. This method promises to address the enormous number of people who attend the temple daily by controlling their movement of devotees, ensuring a more efficient and peaceful darshan at the temple.
In a media event, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan explained the system’s aspects and the government’s initiatives to promote a more pleasant and accessible atmosphere. This new project is a big step toward improving the temple’s amenities without sacrificing its holiness. Harichandan recently visited the temple alongside Arabinda Padhee, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), to supervise preparations and ensure the modifications successfully occur.
