Places to visit in Mount Abu – Mount Abu is a only hill station in Rajasthan located in the Aravalli Range in the Sirohi district. It is situated on the highest summit in the Aravali range, amidst beautiful green, forested hills. Its pleasant environment makes it an ideal hideaway. It serves as the summer capital of Rajasthan, India. Mount Abu was the home of many saints and sages in the old days. Legend has it that all the 330 million gods and goddesses of the Hindu pantheon used to visit this holy mountain.

The name Mount Abu refers to the mythical snake Arbuda who once saved the life of Lord Shiva’s sacred bull, Nandi. The region was thus named Arbudaranaya that literally means the ‘forests of Arbuda, The hill town has been of importance since the Vedic period and is mentioned in the Puranas as the place where the sage Vashishta retired following his conflict with the sage Vishvamitra. The mountains were later ceded as a part of the Rajputana kingdom and were used as a summer resort for the royal Rajput family.

Dilwara Jain Temple – A temples renowned for their beautiful architecture and detailed decorations.
Mount Abu Sanctuary – A wildlife refuge where tigers, leopards, and other species can be found.
Brahma Kumaris – The spiritual organization is well-known for the major role played by women in the movement.

Mount Abu can be visited throughout the year as the climate remains constantly pleasant. However, the best time to visit Mount Abu is between November to February which is the winter season.
