5G Network at Delhi International Airport

5G service at Delhi Airport – Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) is the first airport in India has launched its own 5G infrastructure network service which can be used for all its domestic and international passengers and visitors once the telecom service providers roll out the technology.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) official also said that the airport is ready to support 5G network services for the passengers with a 5G-enabled mobile smart phones and SIM once telecom companies starts their services, passengers will be able to experience better signal strength, seamless connectivity, negligible latency and faster data speed at the domestic and international airport premises, T3 Arrivals and multi-level car parking area and the GMR square in Aero city.

CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) Mr Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said that Delhi Airport always remains ahead in bringing new-generation technologies to the passengers. we have built our own 5G infrastructure at airport and further the deployment of 5G across T3 would be covered in a phased manner.

GMR Airports Infrastructure Limited-led consortium and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) had set up the In-Building Solutions (IBS) for the 5G network well in advance to provide a world-class mobile experience to its passengers who arrive at the airport will be able to use data at speeds 20 times faster than the presently available Wi-Fi system in place, and over 50 times faster than the existing data communication network.

CEO of DIAL also said a few of the Telecom Service Providers (TSP) have enabled their network to facilitate 5G service at Delhi Airport for their customers and expect other TSPs to connect in the next few weeks. It is now more important than ever as the aviation industry is recovering from the impacts of Covid19.
