COVID-19 in India death toll touches 53, total number of cases climb to 2,069.

COVID-19 in India: Union Health Ministry said the number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases in India has reached to 2,069. (1,860 are active cases) of which 155 persons have been cured/discharged. and 53 people lost their lives to the highly contagious COVID-19 disease.

With 235 more people being confirmed Coronavirus positive cases in the last 24 hours in India the Union health ministry said. Maharashtra is the most COVID-19 in India affected state with 335 cases and 13 deaths. Maharashtra government has declared 30 government hospitals in the state as COVID-19 hospitals with the availability of a total of 2,305 beds.

Punya Salila Srivastava, joint secretary, Home Ministry said while addressing the Tabligihi meet, We have identified 9,000 Tabligihi Jamat workers including 1306 foreigners and their contacts, and placed them in quarantine.

Amid the ongoing 21-day lockdown in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced through his tweet that he would be sharing a video message with the citizens tomorrow, Friday at 9 am.
