Indian Railways News Updates: The Indian Railways official announced on Thursday that all the train tickets booked till June 30 were cancelled, IRCTC E-tickets will automatically be cancelled and the full amount will be refunded to them but for those who booked the tickets from the counter will be given six months time to apply for a full refund.

Indian Railway official further said that all the passenger trains will remain suspended till further notice. However, the Sharamik Special train services and 15 special trains will continue to run. The railways also revised the guidelines for cancellation of tickets and refund of fares due to COVID-19 Pandemic.

Railway officials said that keeping in view the COVID-19 crisis, it will be mandatory for passengers to fill up their address details for any bookings, at least 12 cases, passengers travelling in trains were later found to be COVID-19 positive. A provision added related to include the destination address has been made on the IRCTC website. The govt will use the data to facilitate contact tracing in case COVID-19 infections are detected among the train passengers, later on, said by the Railway spokesperson RD Bajpai.
