COVID-19 Updates: Indian Railways to Use Some Train Coaches as Isolation Wards for Coronavirus Patients.

COVID-19 Updates: Indian Railways has planned to turn some of its coaches into isolation wards for patients with coronavirus, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said that Indian Railways will offer clean, sanitized & hygienic surroundings for the patients to comfortably recover. However, the Minister did not specify how many patients could be cared for in each coach.

The Coronavirus cases reach 918 in the country, with 19 deaths. Indian transporter has been continually taking steps to support nations’ healthcare system, amid a rapid rise in the number of individuals affected by Coronavirus.

Indian Railways has already canceled all passenger trains across the country amid a 21 days nationwide curfew announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Indian Railways has ensured the availability of essential commodities and freight services throughout the country.

Indian Railways staff deployed at various good sheds, stations, and control offices continued working on a 24/7 basis to ensure that the supply of essential items for the nation does not get affected.
